Stored XSS via unescaped template names
Published Apr 25, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP allows remote attackers to inject script through web content template names. The Journal module's Web Content Display configuration page renders an attacker-supplied template name without neutralizing script or HTML. A victim must open the affected configuration output for the stored payload to execute in the browser, enabling page-content modification and access to session-visible data.
