CVE-2022-26510Network attack vector

Firmware replacement via CRC-only upgrade validation

Published May 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Improper firmware verification in InHand Networks InRouter302 3.5.37 allows remote authenticated users to install modified firmware. The upgrade.cgi API passes firmware to iburn, which checks only a CRC32 value and performs no cryptographic signature verification. Authenticated management access or a man-in-the-middle position during a legitimate upgrade permits router firmware replacement and persistent backdoor insertion.
