Unauthenticated code execution via exposed internal API
Published Mar 17, 2022 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Improper authentication in Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5U3, 9.5U4, 10.x, and 11.x allows remote attackers to execute code. The Veeam Distribution Service on TCP port 9380 exposes internal API functions without authentication and accepts input that enables malicious-code upload and execution. Network access to the service is the only reported gate, and successful exploitation grants control of the target system.
