Root command execution via crafted CSR Common Name
Published Jul 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in Poly Studio firmware before 3.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root via a crafted CSR. The certificate-creation web interface passes the CSR Common Name field to a shell without neutralizing command substitutions. Administrative web-interface access is required, after which injected commands run with root privileges on the conferencing appliance.
