Unauthenticated administrator API access via filesystem flag
Published Jul 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authentication bypass in Poly EagleEye Director II before 2.2.2.1 allows remote attackers to access administrative APIs. The checkCookie function in /www/DjangoTest/TestApp/api2.py skips cookie validation when /data/local/tmp/runAutomationFlag exists. An embedded rsync account can write that flag through the /flag module, granting administrator-level API access and enabling command execution when chained with separate API injection flaws.
