Administrative access via leaked default Shared HIS credentials
Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in Siemens Spectrum Power 4, 7, and MGMS using Shared HIS allow attackers to gain administrative access. The Shared HIS component in every product version that uses it accepts an account with a default password whose value was leaked publicly. Access requires reachability from an adjacent network and knowledge of the default credentials, and successful login grants administrative control of Shared HIS.
