Code execution via unchecked NCI data copies
Published Apr 1, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflows in OMRON CX-Position 2.5.3 and earlier allow attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted NCI project file. The NCI parser copies user-supplied data into fixed-length stack buffers without first validating its length. Attackers must convince a user to open the file; no authentication is required, and resulting code runs in the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
