CVE-2022-26394

Gateway disconnection via missing mutual authentication

Published Sep 9, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Missing authentication in Baxter Spectrum Wireless Battery Module allows attackers to interrupt gateway connectivity from an adjacent network. The WBM accepts gateway-server communication without mutually authenticating the host, allowing an intermediary to alter connection parameters. Reachability requires access to the device's Wi-Fi network or influence over external DNS resolution, and the bounded consequence is a failed gateway connection.
