Stored XSS via unescaped Critical CSS path
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Optimizing Matters Autoptimize before 3.1.1 allows remote authenticated users with administrator privileges to inject scripts. The Critical CSS rule-saving AJAX action accepts an unescaped Path value and later inserts it into the Critical CSS settings page, where event-handler markup executes. An administrator must save the crafted rule, and another user must revisit the settings page; exposure is limited to configurations that deny unfiltered_html, such as multisite.
