Network factory reset via unauthenticated protobuf command
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Improper access control in TCL LINKHUB Mesh Wi-Fi AC1200 MS1G_00_01.00_14 allows attackers on its local network to factory-reset mesh nodes. The ucloud_del_node handler accepts an unauthenticated MxpManageList protobuf on port 9003 and treats its attacker-controlled serialNum as authorization to reset the matching node. Access to the router-provided Wi-Fi or wired network is required; a reset restores factory settings and removes network configuration, interrupting service.
