Privilege escalation in Hestia Control Panel before 1.6.6 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to become root. On Ubuntu, v-add-user accepts sudo as an account name, creating a Linux account associated with the privileged sudo group. An authenticated panel administrator must create that account; the resulting account can execute unrestricted commands as root.
