CVE-2022-26252Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root SSH key disclosure via filename traversal

Published Mar 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Path traversal in aaPanel 6.8.21 allows remote authenticated users to read the root user's private SSH key through the web panel. The /ajax?action=get_lines endpoint accepts a filename containing ../ sequences and reads the resolved path outside the intended directory. A valid panel session is required; successful exploitation discloses /root/.ssh/id_rsa, enabling reuse wherever that key is trusted.
