Script execution via unfiltered mail setting input
Published Mar 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in TMS 2.28.0 allows attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser through crafted mail settings. The mail create-or-update handler passes the unfiltered port parameter directly into AdminController's setting method, causing supplied script markup to execute when the settings form is saved. Exploitation requires an administrator to access and save the crafted settings, after which the script can read or modify data available to that browser session.
