Sensitive-data access via writable service files
Published Oct 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect service permissions in Beckman Coulter REMISOL Advance 2.0.12.1 and earlier allow local users to access sensitive data. The Normand Viewer Service grants non-privileged users write access to its executables and libraries, allowing those files to be overwritten or manipulated. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access to a Windows REMISOL host, and the published record limits the confirmed consequence to sensitive-data access.
