Download-restriction bypass via crafted file
Published Aug 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Insufficient input validation in Google Chrome Safe Browsing before 104.0.5112.79 on Windows allows remote attackers to bypass download restrictions. Google has not disclosed which Safe Browsing validation accepts the crafted file, and the linked Chromium issue remains access-restricted. Processing the file requires user interaction; the established consequence is a download-restriction bypass, not code execution.
