Unauthenticated command execution via setDeviceName parameters
Published Mar 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in six TOTOLINK router models allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted request. The setDeviceName function incorporates the deviceMac and deviceName parameters into an operating-system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Network reachability to the affected request is sufficient; no authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants command execution on the router.
