Unauthenticated command execution via exportOvpn parameter
Published Mar 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in TOTOLINK N600R 4.3.0cu.7570_B20200620 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through exportOvpn. The cstecgi.cgi handler inserts the third query parameter's value into an openvpn-cert command and passes the string to system without neutralizing shell metacharacters. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted HTTP request executes commands with the CGI process's privileges and grants control of the router.
