Authentication bypass and XSS via Servlet Filter evasion
Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Oct 3, 2024
Servlet Filter bypass in Atlassian Server and Data Center products allows remote attackers to evade authentication or trigger XSS. The dispatcher mishandles specially crafted HTTP requests, allowing them to skip custom authentication filters or the filter that validates Atlassian Gadgets. Authentication bypass depends on an affected app filter; XSS requires a user to request a malicious URL.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
