Unauthenticated XSS via crafted mail message
Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Cross-site scripting in FortiMail Webmail before 7.2.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a recipient browser via crafted mail. The Webmail message-rendering path fails to neutralize attacker-controlled content in specially crafted messages, causing script execution when the message is viewed. No authentication is required to send the message, but a recipient must open it; impact is limited to browser-context data exposure or actions.
