Authenticated command execution via BeanShell search expressions
Published Apr 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Expression injection in IRISNext 9.8.28 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary server commands. The document-search components evaluate attacker-supplied BeanShell expressions in custom, existing, or predefined searches without restricting executable operations. A valid application account capable of creating or editing searches is required, and commands run with the IRISNext application user's privileges on the web server.
