Application crash via malformed PCX file parsing
Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer 9 allows attackers to crash the application by opening a crafted PCX file. The PCX parser fails to validate user-supplied file data before processing it, producing a memory-corruption condition. Exploitation requires a user to open the file; the resulting service interruption lasts until the Viewer is restarted.
