Application crash via out-of-bounds CGM write
Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer 9.0 allows attackers to crash the application by opening a manipulated CGM file. CgmCore.dll parses user-supplied CGM data without adequate bounds validation, permitting a write past an allocated buffer. A user must open the malicious file, and the documented vendor impact is a service interruption until the application restarts.
