CVE-2022-26068Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file read via Swagger path traversal

Published May 1, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Path traversal in Pistache before 0.0.3.20220425 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through the Swagger UI route. Rest::Swagger joins the request path to the configured UI directory and serves the result without canonicalizing it or verifying that it remains beneath that directory. The flaw is reachable when an application enables the Swagger UI route, and successful exploitation discloses files readable by the server process.
