CVE-2022-26057

SYSTEM code execution via installer repair permissions

Published Jun 15, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper privilege management in ABB Mint WorkBench build 5866 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM. The installer repair function grants unnecessary installation-folder permissions, letting replaced installer files direct privileged writes to attacker-chosen new files. Exploitation requires local access and, under ABB's CVSS assessment, high privileges; successful abuse gives attacker-controlled code SYSTEM rights.
