Heap corruption via Omnibox use after free
Published Aug 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in Google Chrome before 104.0.5112.79 allows remote attackers to trigger heap corruption through a crafted HTML page. The Omnibox component accesses memory after release while processing attacker-controlled content, creating a stale-pointer condition. A remote attacker must induce a user to load the page; successful exploitation can crash the browser or compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
