CVE-2022-26009Public exploit

Memory corruption via unbounded serial number formatting

Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in TCL LINKHUB Mesh Wi-Fi AC1200 MS1G_00_01.00_14 allows attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted protobuf. The ucloud_set_node_location handler passes the untrusted serialNum field to sprintf with the node.location@ prefix without checking whether the result fits its 256-byte stack buffer. Access to the router-provided Wi-Fi and port 9003 is required; a successful overflow can crash confsrv and overwrite control-flow data.
