Code execution via malformed NCI project file
Published Apr 1, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Memory corruption in OMRON CX-Position 2.5.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a malicious NCI project file. The CX-Position NCI parser fails to validate user-supplied file data before processing it, corrupting memory in the current process. Exploitation requires the target to open the file or visit a malicious page, and successful code runs with the current process's privileges.
