CVE-2022-25943Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via writable service directory

Published Mar 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Incorrect default permissions in WPS Office for Windows before 11.2.0.10258 allow local users to escalate privileges through its service. The installer leaves C:\ProgramData\kingsoft\office6 writable by non-administrators, allowing a planted CRYPTSP.DLL to be loaded by wpscloudsvr. A low-privileged account must place the missing DLL and start the registered service as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM to gain system-level code execution.
