CVE-2022-25923

Command execution via unsanitized bin argument

Published Jan 6, 2023 · Updated Apr 10, 2025

OS command injection in Saeed Seyfi exec-local-bin before 1.2.0 allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted bin argument. The exported helper concatenates bin into a node_modules/.bin path and passes the resulting string to child_process.exec, which invokes a shell without neutralizing metacharacters. Exploitation requires a consuming Node.js application to pass attacker-controlled text as the bin value, and successful commands run with that application's privileges.
