CVE-2022-25876Public exploit

Local-network response disclosure via DNS rebinding bypass

Published Jul 1, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Server-side request forgery in OP Engineering link-preview-js before 2.1.16 allows attackers to read local-network responses via crafted URLs. URL validation rejects literal private addresses but getLinkPreview still fetches hostnames whose DNS answers resolve to loopback or private addresses. Reachability requires a consuming server to pass attacker-controlled URLs to the function; successful requests expose response content from reachable private hosts and ports.
