CVE-2022-25856Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file read via unchecked Git paths

Published Jun 17, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Path traversal in Argo Project Argo Events before 1.7.1 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through crafted Git trigger paths. GitArtifactReader.readFromRepository joins the clone directory with FilePath and reads it without rejecting parent segments or symlinks. Exploitation requires control of a repository or Git Trigger Source manifest used by a Sensor, and exposure is limited to files readable by that pod.
