Script execution via unescaped placeholder attributes
Published Apr 29, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Stored XSS in Yair Even-Or Tagify before 4.9.8 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through a crafted placeholder value. The template wrapper copies the placeholder into data-placeholder and aria-placeholder attributes without HTML escaping, allowing injected markup to create an event handler. A consuming application must pass attacker-controlled placeholder data, and a user must render and interact with the affected component; execution occurs in that application's browser origin.
