CVE-2022-25822

Kernel crash via sdp driver locking failure

Published Mar 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Use-after-free in the sdp driver in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Mar-2022 Release 1 allows local users to crash the kernel. Inadequate locking permits concurrent access to freed driver memory, producing a deadlock that terminates the kernel. Exploitation requires local execution on a selected Android 10, 11, or 12 device with an affected Exynos or Qualcomm chipset.
