CVE-2022-25814

Unauthorized actions via hijackable PendingIntent

Published Mar 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

PendingIntent hijacking in Samsung Wearable Manager Installer on Android 11 and 12 allows local users to perform unauthorized actions. The installer exposes a PendingIntent without sufficient permission protection, allowing an unprivileged application to hijack the Intent and invoke its authorized operation. A low-privileged application must already run locally, and Samsung has not identified the specific unauthorized action available through the hijacked Intent.
