Credential disclosure via hardcoded DES key
Published Jun 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use of hardcoded credentials in IGEL Universal Management Suite 6.07.100 allows attackers to decrypt encrypted LDAP bind credentials. The LDAPDesPWEncrypter class uses a static 8-byte DES key to reverse the encryption of stored LDAP bind passwords. Attackers must first obtain the encrypted credential value, after which plaintext LDAP credentials are disclosed; the record does not describe alteration or service interruption.
