LDAP credential disclosure via cleartext management traffic
Published Jun 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cleartext credential transmission in IGEL Universal Management Suite 6.07.100 allows remote authenticated users to obtain LDAP bind credentials. The cmd_mgt_load_mgt_tree exchange returns ADRootMasterData containing Active Directory configuration and serializes its bind password in plaintext management traffic. Exploitation requires an authenticated UMS client exchange and the ability to intercept or inspect client-server traffic; the disclosed secret grants the associated LDAP account's access.
