Encrypted superuser credential disclosure via registry permissions
Published Jun 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in IGEL Universal Management Suite 6.07.100 allows local users to read encrypted superuser database credentials. The serverconfig key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Prefs\de\igel\rm\config grants low-privileged Windows users read access to encrypted dbuser and dbpassword values. Low-privileged Windows access is required, and the disclosed values remain encrypted; recovering plaintext requires a separate weakness.
