User redirection via unvalidated ticket-search destination
Published Jul 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Open redirect in ticket searches in Best Practical Request Tracker before 5.0.3 allows remote attackers to redirect users to external sites. The ticket-search workflow accepts a user-controlled redirect destination without validating that it remains within the RT site. Exploitation requires a user to follow a crafted RT link, after which the browser can be sent to an attacker-controlled site.
