Unauthenticated upgrade execution via trusted cookie state
Published Sep 18, 2024 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
Improper access control in Mautic 1.1.3 through 4.4.12 and 5.0.0 through 5.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute upgrade steps. SecurityController::loginAction trusts the attacker-controlled mautic_update cookie and forwards clearCache or schemaMigration states directly to database-migration or update-finalization actions. No authentication is required; crafted requests can disclose the installed version or run upgrade operations that alter data or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
