CVE-2022-25756

Cross-site scripting via malicious link input

Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Basic XSS in Siemens SCALANCE X-300 switch firmware before 4.1.4 allows remote attackers to trigger requests through a malicious link. The integrated web server fails to neutralize script-related HTML tags from link-supplied input before generating a page. Exploitation requires a victim to follow the link while the web interface is reachable, enabling attacker-controlled browser script and malicious requests to the switch.
