Kernel memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms allows local users with high privileges to alter protected memory mappings. The kernel's memextent access-rights update path fails to perform required checks before changing a mapping, allowing memory corruption. Exploitation requires local high-privilege access; Qualcomm has not published whether corruption yields code execution, a crash, or another concrete outcome.
