Modem service interruption via unchecked IPv6 pointer
Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Qualcomm Snapdragon modem firmware allows remote attackers to interrupt modem service with an IPv6 packet during an ECM call. The modem IPv6 packet-processing path dereferences a pointer during the ECM call without first checking it for null. No authentication or user interaction is required; exploitation causes a modem service interruption without reported data disclosure or modification.
