Modem service interruption via crafted DNS packets
Published Feb 9, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Null pointer dereference in Qualcomm Snapdragon modem firmware allows remote attackers to interrupt modem service via crafted DNS packets. The closed-source DNS packet-processing path dereferences a null pointer; Qualcomm has not disclosed the responsible function or malformed field. Network access to the modem's DNS traffic path is sufficient, with no authentication or user interaction, and the bounded consequence is modem service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
