CVE-2022-2572Network attack vector

Unauthorized API access via stale revoked keys

Published Nov 1, 2022 · Updated May 6, 2025

Improper authentication in Octopus Server allows remote attackers to retain API access with keys belonging to disabled or deleted users. The API-key revocation path for external authentication disables or deletes the user but fails to invalidate previously issued keys. Exploitation requires possession of such a key and an external identity provider; the key retains its existing API permissions.
