Buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon Auto MSM8996AU multimedia allows local users to corrupt memory via a crafted client count. The multimedia component processes a client-supplied count variable without bounding the resulting buffer operation, causing memory corruption. Local access is sufficient and no prior privileges or user interaction are required; successful exploitation can expose or alter protected data or interrupt service operation.
