Service interruption via MP4 buffer over-read
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Buffer over-read in Qualcomm Snapdragon video processing allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted MP4 clip. The video parser reads beyond a buffer boundary while processing attacker-controlled MP4 clip data, causing denial of service in the video component. Reachability requires an unauthenticated network path that delivers the crafted media to an affected chipset's video parser; no data disclosure or modification is reported.
