Local memory disclosure via AVI buffer over-read
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
A buffer over-read in Qualcomm Snapdragon video processing allows local users to disclose memory by supplying a crafted AVI file. The video component reads beyond an input buffer while processing the file, exposing adjacent memory and potentially disrupting availability. No privileges or user interaction are required, but code must run locally on a device containing a listed affected chipset.
