CVE-2022-25635

Adjacent service disruption via unchecked BLE length

Published Aug 30, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Buffer overflow in Realtek Linux/Android Bluetooth Mesh SDK before 4.17-4.17-20220127 allows adjacent unauthenticated attackers to disrupt service via BLE. The SDK allocates a buffer for each advertising packet and copies abnormal-length broadcast data without validating the maximum packet length, writing beyond the allocation. Exploitation requires proximity to the Bluetooth mesh network and can interrupt availability without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
