CVE-2022-25625Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via premature MFA authorization

Published Aug 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Privilege escalation in Symantec PAM 3.4.0 through 4.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter administration data during MFA. After initial credentials are accepted but before the second factor completes, PAM grants configuration endpoints read and write permissions. The flaw requires LDAP+RSA or LDAP+RADIUS MFA; single-factor Local or LDAP authentication and SAML are not affected.
