CVE-2022-25595

Unauthenticated service interruption via malformed LAN request

Published Apr 7, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper input validation in ASUS RT-AC86U firmware 3.0.0.4.386.45956 allows remote attackers on the LAN to interrupt service. After a connection is established, the router mishandles a particular request while attempting its server-to-client reply; the exact request field and code locus are undisclosed. No authentication is required, but the attacker must have adjacent-network access, and successful exploitation interrupts the router service.
